Above are Mugshots of my guitars. Please click on the image for a better view. From left to right we have.......
Godin LGXT - My main electric. It has a built in piezo pickup and guitar synth output (although it's not 100% compatible with my ageing Roland GR50 guitar synth. Something that I didn't check before I bought it). If you get the chance try to see the Godin demonstrator Joey Greco - he is an absolutely incredible electric guitar player (seeing him was partly responsible for my defection to acoustic!!!!!)
Gibson Les Paul Custom - Very little on this guitar is original. The pickups, machineheads and nut have been changed. Oh, I also drilled some holes in it to fit a Roland GR2 synth pickup. If anyone wants lessons on how to de-value guitars - I'm your man.
Not a Strat - A Floyd Rose, EMG pickups, Fender Neck, Kramer Body all add up to a guitar far less than the sum of it's parts. Don't try to build a guitar out of bits that don't quite fit together. This guitar manages to sound a little out of tune all over the neck. I have learnt my lesson, by the way.
Yamaha FPX300 - My biggest guitar bargain. £369 for a great sounding Cedar topped acoustic with a really nice pickup system (piezo and condenser mic). The nut width is a fingerstyle friendly 47mm which gives the fretting hand a bigger margin of error. The nut was replaced as, although Yamaha sold this as a wide-necked fingerstyle guitar they kept the standard string spacing at the nut and left massive gaps outside both E strings. Doh.
Yamaha LL11e - sounds really nice in a room, but doesn't record as well as the FPX 300.
